ANTWERP: Txus Vidorreta started off the press conference following Iberostar Tenerife’s victory against Telenet Giants Antwerp underlining: “Amazing win in an amazing atmosphere tonight.”

Analyzing Friday’s contest, he mentioned: “We changed our rhythm in defense during the second quarter and controlled the rebounds. In the second half we played with more confidence, our defense was great. We also scored many important threes.”

The 52-year-old Spaniard head coach added: “Basketball Champions League is very important for us. We are growing doing a great job in this competition. We have the chance to be the first to take the second title.”

On Sunday’s Final versus Segafredo Virtus Bologna, he said: “Virtus Bologna is a very tough opponent, but we will try until the last second bringing our maximum effort.”

Pierre-Antoine Gillet welcomed his opportunity to return to Belgium for the Basketball Champions League Final Four: “It’s a great opportunity to come back to Belgium for such a tournament” and added on the game: “We had a lot of turnovers in the first quarter, but in the second we only gave up six points. That was the key.”

On the losing side, Roel Moors pointed out: “We had great rhythm and great intensity in the first quarter, but Tenerife raised its intensity in the second quarter. We knew what to expect, but it is really hard to prepare. That was a big factor. I respect teams in our league, but we don’t have the chance to face Real Madrid or Barcelona every week.”
