The president of the Italian Basketball Federation, Gianni Petrucci, recently said that Segafredo Virtus Bologna will play in the 7DAYS EuroCup next season expressing his disappointment on the reigning Basketball Champions League title holders for leaving FIBA’s club tournament. He added that the club nullified a contract to play in the BCL during the 2019-20 campaign, but Virtus denied it signed any agreement via press release on Thursday.

“Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna considers its duty to state it hasn’t signed any agreement with FIBA and / or the BCL, to obtain a wild card or an invitation to participate in the 2019-20 campaign of the Champions League” the Italian side made clear.
