Brose Bamberg announced that team captain Nikos Zisis won’t extend his contract with the club. The two sides reached a mutual decision on the matter.

Zisis is leaving Bamberg after four seasons. Since his arrival in 2015, the 35-year-old Greek combo guard helped the Bavarian squad win the 2016 and 2017 German League titles, the 2015 German Supercup and the 2017 German Cup.

“I had an incredible four-year run here in Bamberg. I’ve been able to celebrate great success. But what’s more, I’ve met great people who reach far beyond my active basketball career. Bamberg was home for four years for my family and me. I’m glad I was able to have this experience here. I’d like to thanks everyone in the organization and especially the fans who made every game a special experience,” Zisis said per Brose Bamberg.

Zisis is a former EuroLeague champion with CSKA Moscow (2008). Before Bamberg, he played for such clubs as Fenerbahce, Benetton Treviso, Montepaschi Siena, Unics Kazan and AEK Athens.
