Iberostar Tenerife handed Alex Suarez a training camp contract with an option for the 2019-20 season, the Basketball Champions League participant announced on Wednesday. The veteran of 128 ACB games between Bilbao, Real Madrid and Zaragoza has the opportunity to make his way back to the Spanish League.
The 25-year-old forward moved from his home country to Portugal and Benfica last season. In his first professional trip abroad, he posted 9.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game between the Portuguese League and the FIBA Europe Cup qualifiers.
If he lands a spot in Tenerife’s roster for the 2019-20 season, Suarez will go on for his BCL debut. Aside the Spanish competitions and his 2018-19 stint with Benfica, he competed in 7DAYS EuroCup with Bilbao back in the 2015-16 season.
