Jaime Smith stepped up and gave Bandirma its first win this season in Basketball Champions League

Jaime Smith put on a strong performance as he led Teksut Bandirma to an 84-81 home win against San Pablo Burgos on Day 3 of Basketball Champions League. Bandirma now holds a 1-2 record in Group B compared to Burgos‘ 2-1.

Smith banked game-high 29 points (4-5 from deep) including the three-pointer to put his team ahead 81-79 with 20 seconds left as well as the assist to Ian Hummer for the dunk which sealed the deal.

Omar Prewitt added 16 and Sehmus Hazer 12 points. For Burgos, JP Tokoto scored 17 followed by Thaddus McFadden’s 13 points.

Bandirma had a 16-7 start but Burgos led at halftime 42-41. The hosts had a 65-61 lead after the third quarter and eventually came out on top thanks to Smith in the exciting finish.
