Nicolas De Jong erupted for Pau-Lacq-Orthez guiding his squad past Burgos for the first win in Basketball Champions League

Nicolas De Jong was on fire as he led EB Pau-Lacq-Orthez to an 82-78 road win against San Pablo Burgos in Basketball Champions League. The French squad got its first win (1-3) while Burgos now stands at a 2-2 record in Group B.

De Jong drained 35 points on 13-17 shooting (3-6 from deep) including 11 in the fourth quarter. Tyrus McGee was the only double-digit scorer beside him with 11 points.

For Burgos, Earl Clark scored 17 followed by Thaddus McFadden’s 14 and Alex Barrera’s 12 points.

Burgos had a strong start leading by 24-9 and stayed ahead by halftime (43-29). However, the guests took over after the break and made it a tie in front of the final period (56-56). The game went down to the wire but Pau-Lacq-Orthez held on to the lead for the last five minutes as they sealed the win.
