Zeljko Sakic took over and gave Lietkabelis home win over Torun, their first in Basketball Champions League this season

Zeljko Sakic was on fire as he pushed Lietkabelis to a 98-83 home win against Polski Cukier Torun, their first in Basketball Champions League this season. Both teams now hold a 1-4 record in Group A.

Sakic logged game-high 32 points on 5-8 from deep while also adding four steals, four assists, two rebounds and one block. Tomas Dimsa followed with 19 in addition to Martynas Sajus’ 13 points.

For Torun, Chris Wright scored 21 while Alade Aminu helped with 14 points. Aaron Cel and Keith Hornsby scored 12 each.

Lietkabelis was ahead 26-23 in the highly effective first quarter and kept the distance by halftime (50-45). Torun made it a one-possession game early in the fourth (71-70) but the hosts made an 18-5 run to come out victorious.
