RASTA Vechta improved to 4-2 in Basketball Champions League’s Group B by beating AEK, 79-75, at Athens, on Tuesday.

Man of the match status for Steve Vasturia. The Notre Dame alumni led the way at OAKA Olympic Indoor Hall with 17 points, also grabbed eight rebounds. His outing included five assists, one for Max DiLeo and his clutch three-pointer with 41 seconds to go.

Ishmail Wainright ended up with 16 points including 3/5 beyond the arc. Josh Young followed with 11 points and Trevis Simpson had ten.

Impressive defensive effort lifted Pedro Calles’ club to a double-digit lead early in the fourth period. The Queen could not recover despite cutting the deficit to three points late in the match.

Three-game winning streak snapped for Ilias Papatheodorou’s team that fell to 4-2. Howard Sant-Roos posted a game-high 21 points in the Regular Season Gameday 6 affair, Keith Langford finished with 19.
