Enjoying a large advantage on scoring contribution from the bench, BAXI Manresa beat Filou Oostende, 85-58, on Tuesday evening.

A 16-2 run to open the second quarter blew the game open for the Spanish side. Starters William Magarity and Jordan Sakho combined for 26 points, 14 and 12 respectively, but the 40 points from the bench compared to the 15 coming from Dario Gjergja’s reserves, most in the fourth quarter, was the eye-opening stat of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Round 6 contest.

Pedro Martinez’s team improved to 4-2 with the victory at the Pabello Nou Congost. The visitors suited only nine players, got in foul trouble early and ultimately fell to 2-4 in Group A despite Amar Sylla notching a 16-point, 13-rebound double-double. Shevon Thompson finished with 13 points to his name.
