Peristeri winmasters never trailed to defeat ERA Nymburk, 75-65, on Tuesday.

The Basketball Champions League game featured a comfortable lead for the hosts most of the way. Steven Gray with 19 points paced his team offensively, but keeping the top-scoring Group C side in check at the other end proved the key aspect of the “W”.

Defense did the trick, but Jaromir Bohacik and Martin Peterka missing the Regular Season Gameday 7 contest certainly made the job easier for Ilias Zouros’ successor Nikos Papanikolopoulos in his first-ever European club competition head coaching appearance.

Will Hatcher packing 13 points and Yanick Moreira a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double helped the Greek club slide to 4-3. The team coached by Oren Amiel fell to 5-2 taking the loss at the Arena of GS Peristeri. Pavel Pumprla banked a team-high 12 points in losing effort at Peristeri.
