Facing an opponent with two straight away wins in Basketball Champions League Group A, Lietkabelis took full advantage of the Cido Arena en route for the 77-61 victory over BAXI Manresa on Tuesday night.

Up against one of his former teams, Zeljko Sakic overcame his sluggish start for 14 points and nine rebounds. Martynas Sajus and Tomas Dimsa also put up 14 points apiece in the Regular Season Gameday 9 affair.

The team coached by Nenad Canak jumped to a 19-10 lead, pushed to a 17-point advantage in the second period and was not threatened in terms of the “W” the rest of the way. Not only did the hosts improve to 4-5 and drop Pedro Martinez’s club to 6-3, but gained the tiebreaker advantage as well.

Only 8/30 beyond the arc at Panevezys, Manresa struggled to keep pace. Guillem Jou, 22, posted a team-high 11 points. Luke Nelson had nine.
