Launching an 18-5 run in the fourth period turned a back-in-forth game to a clear 91-78 win for AEK versus Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem on Wednesday evening. The final margin was even enough for the tiebreaker advantage.

Only 4/18 from the field, Keith Langford scored 18 points, enough to share a team-high with Howard Sant-Roos. The latter tallied seven rebounds and six dimes as well. Jonas Maciulis chipped in with 16 points in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Gameday 9 match.

Ilias Papatheodorou’s team jumped to 7-2 in Group B, dropped Oded Kattash’s club to 6-3 and gained the tiebreaker advantage in the process overcoming the 85-78 defeat at the Pais Arena earlier in the season.

Despite strong support from Israeli fans at the OAKA Olympic Indoor Hall of Athens, the visitors couldn’t keep the game close down the stretch. TaShawn Thomas’s game-high 21 points and nine rebounds before fouling out did not make the cut.
