In Gameday 9 of the Basketball Champions League 2019-2020 regular season, Pau Orthez guard Justin Dentmon accomplished something rather special in the game of his team against Rasta Vechta. Not only for the competition but for European basketball overall.

Dentmon scored 35 points on 9/14 3-pointers to set a record in this season’s Basketball Champions League for the most triples scored in a single game. He got one 3-pointer away from the top of the all-time list.

The current holder of the record for most 3-pointers scored in a single game is Jimmy Baron, currently a player of Crvena Zvezda. Baron drained 10/15 from beyond the arc on December 2016 as a player of Neptunas Klaipeda to score 42 points overall and lead his team to a 103 – 88 win over Usak Sportif. His record, set in the inaugural season of the competition, still stands.

While no one has tied Baron’s record, many have come close. And by that, we mean close by one shot.

Take Rion Brown for example. In 2016-2017 he scored 40 points on 9/12 3-pointers and put his name on the list of the top 3-point performances in the history of the competition.

James Feldeine has been one of the top guards and scorers in BCL. In November 2018, Feldeine posted 35 points while shooting 9/12 3-pointers, making his own piece of history in the competition on an unforgettable night for him and his team.

Mike Dixon is another player of note on the list. He dropped 8/12 3-pointers and 29 points overall for AEK against Szolnoki on December 7, 2016.

Rihards Lomzs, Khalif Wyat and Keith Hornsby have finished games with eight 3-pointers apiece.
