FIBA celebrates the induction of Classes of 2020 and 2021 to the Hall of Fame on a special 89th anniversary

FIBA celebrated its 89th anniversary with a special event, a double induction of Classes of 2020 and 2021, held virtually due to the pandemic restrictions.

As FIBA informs, the Class of 2021 has been inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball via an online ceremony. filmed on June 2 along with the Class of 2020.

Legendary players Mathieu Faye (Senegal), Hana Horakova (Czech Republic), Stanislav Kropilak (Slovakia), Oscar Moglia (Uruguay – posthumously), Detlef Schrempf (Germany), Penka Stoyanova (Bulgaria – posthumously), Sergey Tarakanov (Russia), Panagiotis Giannakis (Greece) and Haixia Zheng (China), and coaches Chuck Daly (USA -posthumously), Tom Maher (Australia) and Ettore Messina (Italy) are in the Class of 2021.

In addition to this, the FIBA Hall of Fame Class of 2020 online ceremony has also been published. The ceremony was filmed at FIBA headquarters, the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball. The ceremony could not take place in 2020 due to the global pandemic.

Isabelle Fijalkowski (France), Mieczyslaw Lopatka (Poland), Steve Nash (Canada), Agnes Nemeth (Hungary), Park Shin-ja (Korea), Modestas Paulauskas (Lithuania), Kenichi Sako (Japan), Alexander Volkov (Ukraine), and Jure Zdovc (Slovenia), along with legendary coaches Ruben Magnano (Argentina), Svetislav Pesic (Serbia) and Tara Van Derveer (USA) have been enshrined as members of the Class of 2020.
