Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Vasic named FIBA 3×3 World Tour Jeddah Final 2021 MVP

Mihailo Vasic, Tokyo 2020 Olympic Bronze medalist, captured the MVP award of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Jeddah Final 2021.

He led the Serbian team, Liman to their first-ever FIBA 3×3 World Tour title with five wins in as many games on December 17 and 18. His side beat Gagarin and Sakiai in Pool C, before taking down Lausanne in the Quarterfinals, Antwerp in the Semifinals, and Gagarin in the Final.

Vasic, 28, ranked first in player value and second overall in scoring, as noted by FIBA.

Per the press release: “Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Mihailo Vasic (Liman, SRB) was named MVP of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Jeddah Final 2021 on December 18.

The 28-year-old Serbian star ranked first in player value (the metric used in 3×3 to measure the best individual player statistically), second overall in scoring with 31 points in 5 games and led Liman to their first-ever FIBA 3×3 World Tour title.

Antwerp star Nick Celis led all scorers. Vasic finished second and his teammate Stefan Kojic third.”

Jeddah was the capital of 3×3 basketball for the second year in a row. The most important 3×3 basketball event of the year after the Olympic Games took place in the city of Saudi Arabia featuring the 12 best teams in the world.
