With the Serbian national team being already excluded from Eurobasket 2017, even if according to the Serbian federation things can change, two letters were send to Belgrade to FIBA and Euroleague.

The Serbs and their president Dragan Gilas are asking for some middle ground to be found, stretching that a Eurobasket without 14 of the top European teams can be a success for anyone and on the other hand proposing a possible merge, or a cooperation between the Eurocup – which is the alleged reason of all this mess – and the Basketball Champions League.

It remains to be seen how things will play out with the 20th of April and the FIBA decision on the matter and also on the possible ban of teams from the Olympic Games, getting closer and closer.
