According to several reports from the ex-Yugoslav region, FIBA has sent new letters to the national federations in order to warn them and asking them to take measures against clubs which compete either in the Eurocup or in the Adriatic League.

So far the federations of Slovenia, Montenegro and FYROM are presented as the recepients of those letters, however it’s safe to assume that similar letters were send to Spain, Serbia, Lithuania, Croatia, Germany and Russia as those countries also have clubs in the Eurocup or the Adriatic League. In theory FIBA can sanction the federations for the actions of their clubs by excluding the national teams of those countries from FIBA held tournaments. However this never happened last summer either in the pre-Olympic qualification tournaments or in Rio Games.

The federations are asked to act until the 25th of November. The draw of Eurobasket 2017 will be held on the 22nd of November.
