Projected 2020 NBA Draft lottery pick Deni Avdija had a standout performance to lead defending champion Israel to the Final of the U20 European Championship.

Avdija scored 26 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, stole the ball five times and blocked his opponents thrice for 34 PIR as Israel beat France 81 – 70 to advance in the title game for the third time in a row. The 18-year-old forward/guard registered personal tournament highs in points, rebounds, steals and PIR.

Eidan Alber had 20 points and six rebounds for Israel. Ludovic Beyhurst stood out from France with 16 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Israel will face Spain in Sunday’s Final. The Spanish team defeated Germany 80 – 62 behind 18 points and 12 rebounds by Sergi Martinez plus 18 points by Carlos Alocen.
