Spain defeated France 70-61 to win the 2019 edition of FIBA U16 in the city of Udine and add one more U16 trophy to the collection (Spain has also won gold in 2006, 2009, 2013 and 2018).
Ruben Dominguez was named the tournament’s MVP as he averaged 13.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals. He was joined on the All-Star Five by his teammate Juan Nunez, Victor Wembanyama of France, Matteo Spagnolo of Italy and Adem Bona of Turkey.
Italy completed the podium as they beat Russia 73-68 in the third-place game.
