The 2020 Intercontinental Cup tournament will be played in February.

FIBA Basketball announced the matchups of the 2020 Intercontinental Cup and the game’s schedule. The tournament will take place from February 7 to 9 in Tenerife, Spain.

Per FIBA:

The FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2020 schedule was confirmed on Thursday, with the four participating teams also learning the pairings ahead of next month’s event, set to take place in Tenerife, Spain from February 7-9, 2020.

The Final Four format, adopted in the last edition, will remain unchanged this year, with the two Semi-Finals played on Friday, February 7 and the Third-Place Game and the Final taking place on Sunday, February 9.

The Semi-Finals will see Segafredo Virtus Bologna (ITA), the winners of the last edition of the Basketball Champions League, take on DIRECTV Liga de las Americas champions San Lorenzo de Almagro (ARG), with the tournament hosts Iberostar Tenerife (ESP) matched up against the reigning G League champions Rio Grande Valley Vipers (USA).

The games will take place as follows (all times in local time – GMT):

Friday, February 7
18:30 – Semi Final 1: Segafredo Virtus Bologna (ITA) – San Lorenzo de Almagro (ARG)
21:00 – Semi Final 2: Iberostar Tenerife (ESP) – Rio Grande Valley Vipers (USA)

Sunday, February 9
16:30 – Third-Place Game
19:00 – Final

As announced previously, the competition will take place at the Pabellón Insular Santiago Martín, the venue that hosted the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018 Final as well as the first Final Four of the Basketball Champions League in 2017.

This is the second consecutive edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup to feature the reigning champions of the NBA G League, Basketball Champions League and DIRECTV Liga de las Americas.

The revamped four-team format saw AEK Athens (GRE) claim the FIBA Intercontinental Cup title last year, with the European side defeating Flamengo (BRA) 86-70 in the Final to win the title.

All media representatives, local and international, wishing to attend the event should apply through the FIBA Media Portal by February 2, 2020. No other form of application will be accepted.
