Representing Europe as the defending champion of the Basketball Champions League, Lenovo Tenerife is ready for the 2023 edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
Brazilian guard Marcelo Huertas has been around but resides in the Canary Islands since 2019. Success includes being named MVP in the 2020 FIBA Intercontinental Cup, leading Tenerife to the second title in team history, following the 2017 triumph.
Huertas, 39, appeared as the special guest on the third episode of the bi-weekly audio podcast Buzzer Beater. The theme of the first episode was brotherhood and the importance of athletes dealing with potential mental health issues in the second episode. The Intercontinental Cup was the starting point of the latest installment.
“The main goal is to win the title,” mentioned Huertas previewing the weekend tournament.
