AEK proved way too powerful for San Lorenzo.

AEK Athens is the first 2019 FIBA Intercontinental Cup finalist. The defending Basketball Champions League champion routed San Lorenzo 86 – 64 and advanced to the title game that will be held on Sunday (17/2).

Delroy James finished with a team-high 22 PIR for AEK after posting 15 points and eight rebounds. Captain Dusan Sakota added 15 points as well while Jordan Theodore scored 12 and Howard Sant-Roos 10.

Apart from Dar Tucker (17 points, seven rebounds, four assists) and Joel Anthony (16 points, nine rebounds) no other San Lorenzo player truly delivered in the game. The FIBA Americas reigning champs were overpowered 13 – 27 in the second quarter with the Greek side preserving a strong lead for the remainder of the match.

AEK will meet the winner of Flamengo – Austin Spurs for the title.
