Eurohoops followed AEK throughout the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, from the preparation stage until the warm welcome from the fans in Athens. The Queen travelled to Brazil, overpowered its opponents and returned with the trophy.
Giannoulis Larentzakis, Vassilis Xanthopoulos, Howard Sant-Ross and Charis Giannopoulos talked about the success, their experience at Rio de Janeiro and much more in the fifth installment of the “Road to Rio” series.
Xanthopoulos summed up the Brazil trip mentioning: “It was a new experience for all of us. It’s very important that we returned with the trophy”.
Larentzakis said: “I believe we are on a good path and we want to keep going”. His teammate, Sant-Roos, added: “It feels great. We went to Brazil with a purpose and we achieved it”.
