The 2022 EuroBasket champions will face Italy and Iceland in the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers games

After winning the EuroBasket 2022, Spain qualified for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, but they still need to play some games in Group L, against Iceland on February 23 and against Italy on February 26.

After Serbia, the Spanish roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers Window has been announced, with Michael Caicedo and Jaume Sorolla making their national team debut.

Sergio Scariolo, who won’t be able to be with the national team for the first encounter due to EuroLeague duties with Virtus Bologna, commented on his choices. “A list that has new features, but also includes players who have already defended the Spain shirt with great efficiency in previous games. We also have some European Champions and, above all, we have a great commitment and a fantastic desire to meet again and write new pages that our fans are proud of”, he said.
