France begins World Cup prep games with blowout win

France provided some spectacle to the 7,000 people that attended the game in Pau.

France defeated Tunisia 93 – 36 in its first preparation game ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Les Bleus dominated the second half with a spectacular 40 – 8 run and finished the game with 15-30 3-pointers in an impressive performance.

Guerschon Yabusele led all scorers with 18 points while dishing out six assists to lead France. Yakuba Ouattara had 12 points, Rudy Gobert posted 11 points plus eight rebounds and Nando De Colo dropped 10 points. Vincent Collet’s team was minus center Mathias Lessort who’s facing an ankle issue.

Mohamed Ochi had eight points for Tunisia.

France’s next test will be against Nikola Vucevic’s Montenegro Tuesday (3/8) in Montpellier.
