Slovenia big man Jordan Morgan is hopeful that his teammate Vlatko Cancar wasn’t seriously hurt after the first tests that the Denver Nuggets player underwent in the team’s locker room.

During a loss to Greece, Cancar suffered an apparent knee injury following an awkward landing after a poster dunk late in the game.

It was a scary sight, but per Morgan, there’s hope about the extend of the injury.

“The only thing that can tell us is the MRI. From what I understood, the initial tests were positive actually,” Morgan told reporters upon exiting the OAKA arena. “So, we’ll see. We are all just hopeful because he’s a very important piece for this team.”

Slovenia was beaten by Greece 88 – 77 in the second of two consecutive prep games between the two teams ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Luka Doncic led the Slovenian efforts with 19 points, all of them in the first half since he didn’t play at all after the break as a precaution following a knee collision with an opponent.
