In a highly anticipated preparation game for the FIBA World Cup, Germany won against Canada in a close game 86-81.

It all came down to the last minute when the game was tied 79-79.

Franz Wagner hit the biggest shot of the game to make it 82-79 which was enough to close the deal.

Wagner was the star of the show with 18 points, two rebounds, and four steals, Daniel Theis added 17 points and Dennis Schroeder had a full stat line with 16 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists.

This was Canada’s first prep game and the team was missing arguably its biggest star, NBA champion Jamal Murray who is expected to join them in Spain next week.

Knick’s RJ Barret scored 12 points for the losing side.

Canada is competing in the German “SuperCup” prep tournament in Hamburg this weekend, they are facing New Zealand on Saturday and there’s a good chance they will play Germany again on Sunday, if the hosts beat China.
