Serbia crushed Puerto Rico 110-75 in front of 13,000 fans in Belgrade before heading to China to continue training camp ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Ognjen Dobric led all scorers with 23 points on 11-13 shots, Nikola Milutinov posted 18 points plus 12 rebounds and Serbia captain Bogdan Bogdanovic dropped 15 points only on threes (5-9). Nikola Jovic contributed 11 points plus eight rebounds and five assists to the hosts’ win while Stefan Jovic dished out 11 assists to go with his three points.

Tremont Waters (11 points) and Aleem Ford (10 points) stood out for Puerto Rico. Their team couldn’t match the quality of the Serbian team and the enthusiasm that the hosts carried as a result of playing in home territory.

“The game against them in Manila will be different,” said Serbia coach Svetislav Pesic after the match. He announced that guard Nikola Topic was cut from the roster that now has 13 players. The 12-man squad will be decided on 24/8, two days before Serbia faces China in its World Cup opener.

Finland was without Lauri Markkanen (resting reasons) and became easy prey to Latvia. Behind 21 points by Rolands Smits and in Davis Bertans summer debut, the Latvian side prevailed 94 – 57 in Riga.

Elias Valtonen scored 11 for Finland.
