The Serbian National Team concluded their preparations for the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup with an 89-85 victory over Brazil in Shenzhen, despite the absence of captain Bogdan Bogdanovic and starting center Nikola Milutinov.

Nikola Milutinov, the Olympiacos center, was not even on the team sheet, while Atlanta Hawks‘ player Bogdan Bogdanovic spent the entire match on the bench. Nonetheless, Filip Petrusev capitalized on the extra playing time, scoring 17 points before fouling out in the closing minutes.

Aleksa Avramovic followed with 14 points, while Miami Heat‘s Nikola Jovic and Ognjen Dobric each added 11 points.

For Brazil, the experienced Vitor Benite led the scoring chart with 17 points, supported by Bruno Caboclo with 16. Raul Neto also contributed double figures with 11 points, in addition to seven assists, while Yago dos Santos and Tim Soares each added 10 points.

In the upcoming World Cup, Serbia will face China, South Sudan, and Puerto Rico in Group B, while Brazil is placed in Group G alongside Iran, Spain, and Ivory Coast.
