Manila, Philippines – In a game that ended up with the USA getting an  85-73 win after suffering for three and half quarters, Austin Reaves was the man who decided the outcome.

With this score being 72-68 and the US having made just four threes up to this point, Reaves didn’t hesitate, he pushed the lead for the first time to seven points and that proved to be the most crucial juncture of the game.

“It was one of those plays that if it goes I look good, if not, everyone is looking at me sideways”, admitted Reaves in the mixed zone after the end of a stressful game.

Speaking about Montenegro, he added: “They are trying to murk the game up, to slow it down, make it low possession and that’s the opposite of what we want to do”.

“We figured it out in the second half and it’s good that we handled it and played under such adversity”, Reaves said giving credit to Montenegro: “It was frustrating so shout out to them. It was good for us to be able to react. Obviously there are things we can do better and we will work on that”.
