Two of the strong medal contenders in the upcoming FIBA World Cup prevailed on Wednesday’s preparation games. For the second straight game, Lithuania got a convincing win over Georgia (81-54) in a battle of the big men. The duo of Darjus Lavrinovic (17 p.) and Donatas Motiejunas (12 p., 12 r.) beat Zaza Pachulia who had a great night (18 p., 14 r., 7 turn., 4 st., 3 as.) but was the only double digits scorer of the losing side.

France in its first preparation contest  got also an easy 79-57 win over Belgium. It was a team effort but Rudy Gobert of Utah Jazz stole the show as he had 16 points (5/5 shots, 6/7 free throws, 6 rebounds) and made a case of him being even a starter on the team which has lost already Kevin Seraphin and Alexis Ajinca. After the game it was announced that forward Adrien Moerman was cut from the pre-selection.
