With a letter sent to FIBA, the Turkish Basketball Federation states its intention to step down from its nomination to host the 2013 FIBA World Cup.
As the announcement reads, the Federation wants to use 2023 World Cup hosting budget for basketball development centers, the installation and the dissemination of basketball to the whole of the country, as well as the development of the clubs.
The remainder bids for the competition now are from Russia, Argentina-Uruguay, Indonesia-Japan-Philippines.
