After the elimination of Indiana Pacers in seven games against Cleveland Cavaliers, Bojan Bogdanovic finally got some rest and found time to express his wish and intention to play for Croatian National Team in the following Windows of FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers.

In his interview with fiba.basektball, the 29-year-old acknowledged that he won’t have too many chances to perform on the World Cup stage and won’t let this one slip by without a fight: “I love playing in these kinds of tournaments. And I want to fight to help my team make it to China 2019. I want to compete on the world stage once again in my career”, he started.

Although Croatia is in a tough spot with a 1-3 record and at the bottom of the table, Bojan doesn’t lose hope and believes that they are capable of advancing further: “We’re in the last position of the group and a bit against the odds, but it’s still possible and we’re never going to give up. We’re not the kind of guys that are going to give up on this. So fighting and believing in our chances is the only solution.”

It is expected for Dario Saric, Dragan Bender, Ivica Zubac, Ante Zizic and a few other players to be available also and Bogdanovic was certainly optimistic about that: “Some guys that were not available or were injured for the first two windows are most certainly coming back this summer. The team is going to benefit from it. We have to do everything in our power, play those last two games like the finals.”

Croatia’s mission will start against Italy on June 28 and for the last game in this competition stage, their opponent is going to be Romania on the 1st of July.
