Sergio Rodriguez is part of the Spanish national team pre-selection for the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers, however, he clarified that he will not play in the upcoming games against Slovenia and Belarussia.
“It has been a complicated year with a lot of games”, said Rodriguez according to Spanish newspaper “Marca“.
“I thought I could be present for this next FIBA window, but due to physical problems especially after the Final Four we decided that it would be better to rest well during the summer and be able to participate in the next Window at the highest level”, he explained.
Speaking about the conflict between FIBA and Euroleague, Rodriguez added: “I would like the issue to be resolved to be able to play and enjoy it. I hope to be present in September and enjoy being part of the national team because for us it’s something special”.
