Olimpia Milano announced that Italian guard Amedeo Della Valle will temporarily leave the training camp of his national team ahead of the September World Cup Qualifiers to complete his physical recovery.
Della Valle’s status will be re-evaluated on September 9 in Bologna. It will then be decided if the player will participate in the two games of the Qualifiers, held on September 14/17.
Italy will face Poland in Bologna on September 14 and then Hungary at Debrecen on September 17. The “Azzurri” are already facing one major absence since L.A. Clippers forward Danilo Gallinari announced that he won’t be able to join the national team for these two games. His decision was heavily criticized by Italy head coach Romeo Sacchetti.
