According to ‘Sports Journal’, Banvit’s power forward will miss Serbia’s upcoming game against Greece in Heraklion, Crete, due to his knee injury. Bircevic added his name to the list of players that will miss the game, including Nikola Jokic and possibly Milos Teodosic and Boban Marjanovic.

Stefan Bircevic was a member of Serbia’s national team in the last three major tournaments, winning three silver medals. The 28-year old stated the following: “I wanted to participate in the training camp despite my knee injury, but the recovery lasted longer than I expected. Unfortunately, I cannot speed up the process.”

Serbia travels to Greece on September 13 and then hosts Estonia in Belgrade on September 16 for the two games of the World Cup qualifiers.
