Greek Federation president Giorgos Vassilakopoulos defended the schedule of the FIBA Windows and said that EuroLeague and the NBA must not “object” to the schedule of the national team games taking place during the season.
“The people want and should watch the national team,” Vassilakopoulos said to the Greek National Television, following the game between Greece and Serbia. “If the national team doesn’t play in its own country, basketball won’t go forward. It took us five years to have an official game in our country, once. It’s an obligation towards the people that support basketball in each country to have these “Windows”. Those that bring obstacles, and I’m also talking about EuroLeague and the NBA, must finally align with this.”
