While Italy and Turkey got big wins against Lithuania and Spain respectively, the European champions missing the FIBA World Cup is the biggest news of the day in the European qualifiers.

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

It’s not a surprise but now it’s a fact. The reigning European champions Slovenia lost to Ukraine and mathematically are out of the upcoming FIBA World Cup. Meanwhile, Turkey in Group I and Italy in Group J made important steps towards the qualification but they are not yet in.

Group I
Turkey – Spain 71-67 (Balbay 12 – Brizuela 18)
Ukraine – Slovenia 82-54 (Kobets 13 – Hrovat 13)
Latvia – Montenegro 75-84 (Meiers 27 – Dubljevic 22 )
