Argentinian fans were treated to big win over the United States in Thursday’s FIBA World Cup qualifier.

Argentina got an 80-63 win over the United States in La Rioja’s Superdomo Stadium. In front of 9.000 fans, the Albicelestes raised their tally to eight wins in nine FIBA World Cup qualifiers. Nicolas Laprovittola led the way with 17 points and eight assists. Travis Trice notched 16 points for Jeff Van Gundy’s side.

Panama brought Mexico to the brink of elimination and retained its hopes for a ticket to China through Group E of the America’s final qualification round with a 76-65 victory in Panama City. Javier Carter stood out with 18 points and nine rebounds. Alex Perez’s 18 points weren’t enough for the Mexicans.

In Montevideo, Uruguay achieved a dramatic and important 64-62 win against Puerto Rico. Mathias Calfani sank a clutch three-pointer and a total of 11 points, while Esteban Batista went off for 19 points and nine rebounds. David Huertas poured 36 of the visitors’ points.
