Turkey booked a ticket to the FIBA World Cup despite yesterday’s loss to Montenegro. After the FIBA World Cup European Day 10 Qualifier match, Ufuk Sarica noted that players from both teams were in action during EuroLeague Regular Season Round 10 and FIBA’s latest “window” stressing that so many games could result to serious injuries.

The 46-year-old coach mentioned: “We have a young team. That was a factor in our defeat. Some players played three games in 3-4 days. We can’t save our players’ health if we don’t talk about FIBA’s and EuroLeague’s attitude. Both our and Montenegro players played in EuroLeague games. They aren’t robots. This needs to change if we want to prevent some big injuries”.
