Spain beat Lithuania 78-70 as both teams opened up their preparation game in Pamplona, Spain. Jonas Valanciunas, Domantas Sabonis, Mantas Kalnietis, Paulius Jankunas and Renaldas Seibutis were missing for the visiting side, while Spain didn’t have Marc Gasol and Rudy Fernandez available.

However, Ricky Rubio with 21 points and Willy Hernangomez with 23 points and nine rebounds led the charge. For Lithuania, Lukas Lekavicius was 10 points was the only scorer in double digits.

As Spanish national team coach Sergio Scariolo said before the game: “Sabonis and Valanciunas will not play. Without them, Lithuania has a more perimeter-oriented team but we are not worried too much. The opponent is very strong but the result does not matter to us, as long as we don’t go out on the court to lose”.
