Spain downed Ivory Coast 79 – 62 in the Malaga’s preparation Tournament ahead of the World Cup. The game took place in a packed Martin Carpena Arena.
Ricky Rubio scored 14 points and dished out five assists while Willy Hernangomez finished with 14 points and six rebounds. Juancho Hernangomez had 13 points and four rebounds for the winning side. Pierre Oriola added 11 points.
Deon Thompson posted 14 points and seven rebounds for Ivory Coast in the arena where he will play most of his games next season as a player of Unicaja Malaga. Vafessa Fofana scored 14 points.
Spain will face Congo in the tournament’s Final Saturday (10/8).
