The first cuts of the Spanish squad were announced.

Forward Pablo Aguilar and forward Joan Sastre are the first two cuts of the Spanish national team ahead of the World Cup, the ACB announced. The two players were removed from the roster following the completion of the “Malaga Tournament,” Saturday (10/8).

The preliminary roster of the Spanish squad now includes the following 14 players: Javier Beiran, Victor Claver, Quino Colom, Ilimane Diop,Rudy Fernandez, Jaime Fernandez, Marc Gasol, Willy Hernangomez, Juancho Hernangomez, Sergio Llull, Xavi Rabaseda, Pierre Oriola, Pau Ribas and Ricky Rubio. Two more players will be cut before the World Cup.

Spain will face Puerto Rico, Tunisia and Iran in Group C of the first stage of the tournament. Two teams will advance to the next phase.
