Kelly Olynyk will not be able to represent Canada in the 2019 FIBA World Cup, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. He picked up a knee injury in a friendly game versus Nigeria and will not be able to recover ahead of his national team’s trip to China, but is expected to be ready for the start of the 2019-20 NBA season, the report states.

Canada is set to miss plenty of players in the World Cup. The 28-year-old big of the Miami Heat is added to the list, which includes several NBA players.

Without many significant stars, the Canadian national team will battle Australia, Lithuania and Senegal at Dongguan from September 1st to September 5th.
