Although the Canadian national team was hoping for Cory Joseph to join the squad for the upcoming FIBA World Cup, the player decided to withdraw, according to Doug Smith.

Out of 17 NBA players – the most Canada has ever had and the most NBA players ever from any country other than the US – only one remained on the roster, Kem Birch.

Joseph played with the Indiana Pacers last season averaging 6.6 points, 3.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds. The 28-year-old signed with the Sacramento Kings this summer.
