The Greek national team received a warm welcome by Chinese fans after arriving in the airport of Shangai ahead of the 2019 World Cup (31/8 – 15/9).
Per the Greek Federation, Chinese fans were waiting to greet the national team and meet players such as reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and two-time EuroLeague First Team guard Nick Calathes. Both of them were asked to sign autographs by the fans.

The Greek squad will travel to Nanjing where the Group F games are going to be held. Greece will face Brazil, New Zealand and Montenegro in the first stage of the tournament. The two top teams in the Group will advance in the next phase.
