Russia coach Sergey Bazarevich said that he’s “really a personal fan” of Facu Campazzo following the win of his team over South Korea and prior to the game against Argentina.

Campazzo didn’t disappoint him. The Real Madrid guard scored 21 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed six rebounds to lead Argentina to a 69 – 61 win over Russia. This result improved Argentina to 3-0 and got them first place in the Group.

Russia finished with 2-1. Sergey Bazarevich’s players came back from a nine-point deficit to make it 61 – 63 via a layup by Andrey Sopin with 39 seconds remaining. Yet after a timeout by Argentina, Campazzo hit the layup that put his team ahead by four and then stole the ball to seal the win for his squad.

Andrey Zubkov finished with 18 points and seven rebounds while Nikita Kurbanov scored 13 for Russia. Luis Scola (13 points, eight rebounds) and Marcos Delia (13 points) were the other two Argentina players in double figures.
