Dennis Schroder dominated in the third quarter and gave Germany the win over Senegal

Dennis Schroder stepped up for Germany and led them to an 89-78 win over Senegal in FIBA World Cup Classification Round.

Germany and Canada are now tied in Group P with a 2-2 record while Jordan and Senegal still wait for their first wins (0-4).

Schroder banked 24 points while also dishing 12 assists and grabbing six rebounds. Johannes Voigtmann and Daniel Theis added 14 points each with the latter also logging nine rebounds.

Germany had a 24-16 lead early on thanks to Theis and Kleber’s ten first-half points each but Senegal quickly recovered and had the minimal lead at the break (37-36).

For Senegal, Ibrahima Faye and Maurice Ndour scored 17 points each followed by Youssoupha Ndoye’s 11 points. Faye also grabbed seven boards.

It was a balanced game (50-50) for a few minutes of the third quarter but Schroder took over nailing 18 points including four triples and gave Germany a 66-60 lead in front of the final period. The German squad kept the momentum going increasing the lead to as much as 16 points (87-71) and safely closing the game.
