SHENZEN – For the first time in the country’s history, the Czech Republic managed to qualify to the Top-16 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup. They even have a chance of reaching the quarterfinals with a win over Greece on Monday.

The leader of this team, Thomas Satorasnky believes that the 2017 EuroBasket and the World Cup Qualifiers helped the Czech NT grow: “I think the first building was the 2017 European Championship which was a disaster for us but it was the first experience at the big stage for local players who play Czech League. I think they learned from that and thanks to qualification for the World Cup, where I didn’t play and Jan (Vesely) didn’t play, they took big responsibility and grew as players”, he told Eurohoops.

Satoransky, 27 also talked about the upcoming clash vs. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece, stating how his national team should be ready to guard him.
