SHENZEN: Following Czech Republic’s win over Brazil on Saturday, Ondrej Balvin discussed his national team’s run in the 2019 FIBA World Cup and the crucial match versus Greece on Monday.
“We worked hard. So many people said that we do not deserve to be here. When we beat Turkey many thought that they just gave it to us. We just shut everybody’s mouth” he pointed out. “We deserve to be here. Czech basketball is getting better every year.”
“We can not think about the points” added Balvin on the 12-point advantage for his side in a potential three-way tie. “Greece is a tough and experienced team. They have the reigning MVP of the best league in the world. They have Kostas Sloukas, probably the best point guard outside of the NBA. They have a lot of weapons.”
